History:
Xie Lian, crown prince of the now-defunct XianLe kingdom, first ascended to godhood at the age of 17 after defeating a ghost with his martial prowess. But when Xian Le fell into chaos only a few years later, Xie Lian descended back to the mortal realm in a futile attempt to save his people. After XianLe's fall, he ascended once more, only to be kicked back out of the Heavens after mere minutes.
Now, after 800 years spent wandering, busking, and scrap collecting in the mortal realm, Xie Lian has ascended to godhood once more. But can he endure with no temples and now followers? Once admired by thousands as the Crown Prince who Pleased the Gods, Xie Lian is now virtually unheard of, beyond vague rumors of being the god or misfortune and scrap-collecting.
Personality:
Xie Lian has always been kind and determined. His goal in life, even before ascending, was to help every person he could, without sacrificing the well being of others. He tried, and he failed, but Xie Lian is no less moved to help and protect than he was before his fall. But after 800 years of eating humble pie, his methods and goals are perhaps a bit more modest.
After centuries of living life on the margins of society, Xie Lian is used to putting on his best Customer Service Smile in the face of nearly any indignity. He has seen enough of the worst humanity has to offer, but intentionally chooses kindness anyway... Apart from some occasional snark. But his gentle nature should not be mistaken for weakness. He is a Martial God, after all.
